Battery Recycling Program
With the assistance of the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund (NB-ETF), the Kings County Region Solid Waste Commission implemented the residential battery recycling program in 2009. Residents are now able to drop off at no cost, their residential batteries for recycling.
Battery collectors have been distributed throughout the region. Please visit one of the following locations to drop off your residential batteries:

- Berwick Country Store (Irving), Route 10, Berwick
- Bill’s Corner Grocery, 1149 Main Street, Sussex Corner
- Canadian Tire, Gateway Mall, Sussex
- Connell’s Grocery, Route 10, Long Creek
- Ducey’s Grocery, Route 705, Wickham
- Hynes General Store Esso, Route 114, Penobsquis
- McCready’s Motel & Restaurant, Youngs Cove Road, Youngs Cove
- Norton One Stop, Route 124, Norton
- Penobsquis Fire Hall, Route 114, Penobsquis

Batteries which will not be accepted include car or truck batteries, computer batteries and large re-chargeable industrial batteries.
To date over 1500 kgs. (3300 lbs) of batteries have been collected and shipped for recycling.
